Christopher Hayes has practiced with Borowsky & Hayes LLP and its predecessor firm, the Law Offices of Philip Borowsky, since 1996. Mr. Hayes has participated as co-counsel in most of the firm’s cases, including the following: establishing insurance coverage for an attorney sued for invasion of privacy; the trial to a substantial verdict, upheld on appeal, of a hospital manager’s claim for wrongful termination of employment; an ongoing federal securities lawsuit resulting in a partial recovery of nearly $5 million on behalf of more than 60 named plaintiffs; the trial of a physician’s claims for wrongful suspension of his medical staff privileges; and an insurance coverage action on behalf of a corporate client resulting in a trial verdict of $900,000, which was affirmed on appeal.

Mr. Hayes focuses his practice on complex business and commercial litigation, securities litigation, employment litigation and counseling, commercial insurance litigation and coverage, civil writs and appeals, and personal injury litigation.

Mr. Hayes received an A.B. degree in Political Science from Stanford University in 1991, and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1996, where he served on the Moot Court Board and as Technical Editor and Member of the Executive Board of the Hastings Law Journal.

Mr. Hayes is a member of the State Bar of California, admitted to practice in the following courts:

  • California Supreme Court and all trial and appellate courts in California
  • United States District Court in all districts of California
  • United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
  • United States Supreme Court

Mr. Hayes’s community activities include service as a member of the Congregation Giving Commission, eucharistic minister, and catechist at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, and during 2005-2006 as a member of the bishop search committee of the Episcopal Diocese of California.
